The concept of not using shampoo is something I began to implement in 1993. I have been a hairstylist/colorist since 1985 and began to develop products for other hair companies in 1986. Seeing the results of clients using shampoo, I knew something had to change. Due to the harsh detergents and sodium laurel/laureth sulfates found in most all shampoos, they would experience color fading/stripping, dull, lifeless, frizzy, dry hair, dry scalps, oily scalps, scalp disorders, hair loss, etc., damaging their scalp, hair, health and environment. That was when I started to implement my new concept in cleansing, eliminating the detergents and harsh chemicals that lather and strip your scalp and hair, and introduced the WEN product line to the world.
